Part of my recent bodies of work exploring what I’m calling ‘forms of ongoingness’ – organic forms that conjure processes of duration and transfer of energy or information, such as those inspired by the wave formations, loops and knots, visualizations of radio frequencies and abstracted representations of handwriting. These floor sculptures embody the tension between stability and collapse as the forms keep their shape by allowing the ends to collapse – the collapsed edges stabilize the structures.
